Athlete Thrilled At Silver In Karate

Jocelyn Fennell from Prince George has gone through all her competition at the BC Winter Games, and it took her six meets or events to win her silver medal in Kumite female 44 kg.
Fennell was thrilled with her second place finish. “In karate it’s really easy to feel like you’ve failed, but don’t let that get you down. There’s always a positive to learn from.”
She’s been competing in karate for five years.
The karate events are being held at Pleasant Valley Secondary School in Armstrong.

The BC Winter Games girls Kata team finals were held this morning in karate at Pleasant Valley Secondary in Armstrong.
Kata features three member teams who are marked on precision on how they move and their unison.
They lose points if they are not in sync.
The gold medal went to the team from Vancouver Island with two girls from Campbell River and one from Courtenay.
The Kumite finals start at 10 this morning
The medal presentations are set for 11:45 this morning.
