Vancouver Area Racers Dominate Ladies Giant Slalom
By Rob Phare
Today's weather challenged the racers with limited visibility and an ice rain which coated their ski goggles within seconds. The course was predictably soft, given the falling snow, but still fast. Fog made it difficult to see to the top of the course from the finish line but it didn't stop these racers who fought the elements to post the fastest times of all 50 competitors. All three are good friends and race together.
Ladies Combined results for the two GS runs are:
1. Katie Fleckenstein, West Vancouver; 1:46.77
2. Anna Gosney, North Vancouver; 1:48.09
3. Frances MacDonald, North Vancouver; 1:50.04
