15 year old Lead Maverick Kilbride, got into the sport through his father over eight years ago and shares “this is my second BC Winter Games and due to my age – this is my last hurrah”. When asked if he will pursue the sport at a higher level he smiles and says “Maybe, probably”.
16 year old Second Daniel Gao is equally excited as he competes on his birthday. Goa and Skip Cameron golf together and when Cameron suggested he try curling “the next thing you know I was in three leagues”. Adding he enjoys playing at a higher level than recreational saying “He is excited about his first BC Winter Games. It’s a great way to celebrate my birthday”.
